What should I wear?
During your treatment you'll be asked to undress to your underwear. Please wear underwear that you're comfortable in and don't mind potentially getting a small amount of massage oil on. Towels and blankets are used throughout the treatment to ensure your privacy and comfort.
If you're booking your first appointment or simply want to know what to expect, you'll find answers to some of the questions I'm asked most often below.
Do I need to undress fully?
No - you will be asked to undress to your underwear. I ensure your privacy and warmth throughout the session.
Is massage painful?
No. Massage should never feel like something you need to endure. While some areas may feel tender if they are particularly tight, pressure is always adjusted to your comfort level and feedback is encouraged throughout the treatment.
What if I struggle to relax?
That's completely normal. Many people arrive feeling busy, stressed or unable to switch off straight away. There is no expectation to relax instantly. The treatment provides time and space for your body and mind to gradually settle at their own pace.
Is pressure tailored?
Absolutely. Every appointment is adapted to what your body needs on the day. Some clients prefer lighter pressure, while others enjoy deeper work in specific areas. Pressure is adjusted throughout the treatment based on your comfort level and feedback.
How often should I book?
There isn't a one-size-fits-all answer. Some clients benefit from monthly appointments to help manage stress and tension, while others choose to come more or less frequently depending on their needs. If you're unsure, I'm happy to discuss what might be most appropriate for you.
What should I expect afterwards?
Most people leave feeling more relaxed, lighter and more comfortable in their body. Occasionally there may be some mild tenderness afterwards, particularly if an area has required more focused work. Drinking water, keeping warm and taking things a little easier for the rest of the day can help.
Can treatments focus on specific areas?
Yes. Treatments can focus on a specific area such as the back, neck and shoulders, or be more full-body in nature. Every appointment is tailored to what your body needs on the day.
Do I need to talk during the massage?
Not at all. Some clients enjoy chatting while others prefer quiet time to relax. You're welcome to do whichever feels most comfortable for you.
Is there parking available?
There is free on street parking.
I've never had a massage before, it that ok?
Absolutely. Many clients come to me for their very first massage. Everything will be explained clearly and you're welcome to ask questions at any point.
Can I book online?
Yes. Appointments are booked online at any time using the booking link.
What massage treatments do you offer in Kirkcaldy?
I offer therapeutic massage treatments ranging from 45 to 120 minutes, along with Indian Head Massage and Indian Head with Back Massage. Every treatment is tailored to your individual needs.
Do you offer pregnancy massage?
I do not currently offer pregnancy massage as a bookable treatment. However, existing clients may be able to continue treatment during pregnancy from the second trimester onwards where appropriate. If you are an existing client and have any questions, please get in touch before booking.
Do you accept clients from outside Kirkcaldy?
Yes. Many clients travel from across Fife including Glenrothes, Leven, Burntisland, Dunfermline, Cupar and surrounding areas for treatment. The clinic is based in Kirkcaldy with free on-street parking available nearby.
What type of massage do you offer?
I provide therapeutic massage tailored to the individual, alongside Indian Head Massage and Indian Head with Back Massage. Treatments can focus on relaxation, muscle tension, stress, aches and pains, reduced mobility or general wellbeing depending on your needs.
What if I'm not sure which treatment to book?
If you're unsure, don't worry. Many clients aren't certain which treatment length is right for them. In most cases I recommend booking based on how much time you'd like for treatment, and we can discuss your goals during your appointment. You're also welcome to get in touch before booking.
Do you offer gift vouchers?
Yes. Gift vouchers are available to purchase online and can be sent directly to the recipient's email address.
Gift vouchers can be purchased for specific treatments or for a monetary amount and are valid for six months from the date of purchase.
To ensure fairness for all clients, gift vouchers cannot be extended beyond their expiry date, so please make sure appointments are booked and attended before the voucher expires.
